MICHIGAN CENTRAL STATION:

Revived by the Arts

Located in Detroit, Michigan Central Station first opened its doors in 1913.  Once hosting thousands of passengers a day and  providing offices for thousands of workers, the station saw its last train leave on January 5, 1988.  Although added to the National Register of Historic Places, it currently sits abandoned waiting for someone to invest in its potential.

A perfect place for the arts, Michigan Central Station will be revived by those who see potential in the broken and abandoned.  As a vision of imperfect beauty and raw expression, the station will be transformed into a center for the arts.  It will be a haven for artists of all disciplines, the connoisseurs, the amateurs, and the average person.
